We will be there by 10.00am or earlier before departing for a run, leaving at 11.00am. For those having dinner at our destination in Bocking, we are expected to arrive before 12.30pm. The distance and route will be planned to enable this provided departure from the church is prompt. (NB. booking for dinner is now full and no more places are available. To cater for some of our more northern members we are organizing a run and light lunch in the Colchester area. Meet for the start at 10am at the Barn Garden Centre Café, Turkey Cock Lane, Stanway, Colchester, CO3 8ND. The steam train museum at Castle Hedingham will be transformed into that of a small country station during wartime. Help recreate the atmosphere with your Austins and period clothes too. Steam train rides and free entry for exhibitors. Open to the public from 10.30a.m. but we can arrive from 9.00a.m. onwards. There will be a remembrance service at 3p.m. attended by the Royal British Legion and the deputy Lord Lieutenant of Essex. The last train ride will be at 3.30pm so members are asked if they can try not to leave before the train gets back (about 4pm). Free teas and coffees for members from the staff room. Light refreshments and food available from the dining car or bring your own. There is a new gate for visitors but member are asked to use the old gate where you will be directed in. Sunday 30th Classic and vintage vehicle show at the Millennium Hall, Great Saling, near Braintree. The show is combined with a traditional village fete which offers a wide range of entertainment and refreshment to suit everyone. Gates opens at 1300 hours but vehicles are welcome to arrive (and leave) at anytime during the day, there is no requirement to book nor an entry charge for classic & vintage vehicles and their passengers.
